Wednesday, Dec. 14
Marshfield man arrested for battery – domestic abuse
A Marshfield woman reported that during an argument on Dec. 13, her 29-year-old husband grabbed her by the arm, causing pain and bruising, and threatened to hit her in the face, which made her fear for her safety. Police arrested the man for battery – domestic abuse, and charges will be forwarded to the Wood County district attorney’s office.
Friday, Dec. 16
Vehicle damages parking sign, operator cited
An officer observed a vehicle fishtailing on the 400 block of S. Palmetto Ave. at 10:31 p.m. The operator of the vehicle lost control, and the vehicle went up onto the median and struck a parking sign. The sign was broken off at the base.
Police cited the driver, a 23-year-old Marshfield man, for disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle and for operating while suspended. The man’s vehicle sustained minor damage.
Man arrested for child support warrant
Police responded at 11:03 p.m. to a report of a car in a ditch on the 700 block of S. Highland Ave. Upon officer arrival, the driver, a 34-year-old man, identified himself and asked if he could go into a residence to change his socks and shoes.
When police checked the man’s name, his information came back as “not on file,” but local records showed the name the man gave was an alias. It was eventually determined that the name the man gave was his birth name, which he had not used in years.
The man had an outstanding warrant for child support through Wood County. After he came out of the residence, the man was taken into custody and brought to the Marshfield Police Department for booking. He was then transported to Wood County Jail after he was unable to post bond.
Saturday, Dec. 17
Police arrest woman following altercation
At 1:34 a.m. a Marshfield man reported a physical altercation involving his fiancee, a 58-year-old from Marshfield, and her son’s girlfriend, a 21-year-old from Marshfield. The 58-year-old was subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct-domestic related. Charges will be requested through the Wood County DA’s office.
Skimming device found at Upham Avenue ATM
An employee of a bank on the 200 block of E. Upham St. reported a possible skimming device was on the bank’s ATM. Police inspected the ATM, and a device identical to the machine card scanner was covering it.
Additional items were located and taken as evidence. Investigation is ongoing.
Sunday, Dec. 18
Man taken into custody for disorderly conduct
Police responded at 2:28 p.m. to a report of a disturbance on the 800 block of S. Cedar Ave. Following investigation, police took a 38-year-old Marshfield man into custody for disorderly conduct. The man posted the required bond and was released.
Monday, Dec. 19
Police receive two reports of fraud
A Wood County Sheriff’s Office deputy faxed a report to the Marshfield Police Department regarding an Auburndale woman reporting unauthorized charges on her debit card. The charges were from Nov. 26 and Nov. 27.
A Marshfield man reported that he learned his debit card had been compromised when he found that there were three unauthorized transactions on his account totaling $342.02. The transactions took place between Dec. 10 and Dec. 15.
Former employee reportedly threatens past employer
Police received a report that a business has been having problems with an employee that was let go in July 2016. The subject had made some perceived threats, most recently on Dec. 16.
It was requested that the subject be warned. Police contacted the subject and warned him that if he continued his behavior, he would be arrested. The subject stated he would comply and stop his behavior.
Two Marshfield men with warrants processed
At 3:12 p.m. a 31-year-old Marshfield man came into the Marshfield Police Department to post bond for a local warrant. The man was booked and later released after posting bond.
Police took a 20-year-old Marshfield man into custody on the 3200 block of S. Central Ave. at 4:11 p.m. for a valid felony Department of Corrections warrant. He was booked and then transported to Wood County Jail.
Tuesday, Dec. 20
Arpin woman, man taken into custody
At 11:02 p.m. police took a 27-year-old Arpin woman and 30-year-old Arpin man into custody, the woman for possession of a controlled substance and the man for a probation violation. Officers located 31.7 grams of a white, glass-like substance — that was sent to the Wisconsin state crime lab for further testing — in the suspects’ vehicle.
The woman was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and released. The man was booked and transported to Wood County Jail. Charges are pending through the Wood County DA’s office.
Man with Clark County warrant arrested, released after posting bond
Following a traffic stop on the 1200 block of W. Veterans Parkway, police arrested a 39-year-old Abbotsford man for a Clark County warrant. He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, where booking procedures were performed. He later posted the necessary bond and was released.
