Purple Angels offers holiday care giving workshop
For Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD — Marshfield Area Purple Angels is hosting a free caregiving workshop in December to help professional and family caregivers support individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. The workshop will raise awareness about the different types of dementia, common symptoms and behaviors, and include strategies for balancing care giving responsibilities during a busy holiday season.
“Dementia and the Holidays” will be held Dec. 14 at the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library with an afternoon session from 12:30-2 p.m. and an evening session from 7-8:30 p.m. Participants can register for the session that best fits their schedule.
The workshops are offered free of charge and are facilitated by Doug Seubert, an experienced caregiver, trainer, and consultant. Seubert, a dementia specialist and certified dementia practitioner, is the founder and executive director of Marshfield Area Purple Angels, a nonprofit organization that was founded in memory of Seubert’s mother who had Alzheimer’s disease.
Space is limited, so registration is encouraged by calling Marshfield Area Purple Angels at 715-383-0897 or emailing [email protected].
