Pacelli edges Stratford boys basketball

Breit leads Tigers with 16 points, eight rebounds

STRATFORD — Stratford shot just 31 percent from the field and dropped a tight 40-38 decision to Stevens Point Pacelli in a nonconference boys basketball game Tuesday night at Stratford High School.
Stratford (1-1) led 22-20 at halftime but could not hold on as Pacelli pulled out the win. The game was the season-opener for Pacelli.
Vaughn Breit scored 16 points to lead the Tigers. He was 5 of 12 from the field while the rest of the team was just 9 of 32. Breit also had a team-high eight rebounds.
Stratford returns to action Monday at Rib Lake.
