Strong second half lifts Auburndale girls basketball past Abbotsford

Apaches grab first win of young season

AUBURNDALE — Eight different Auburndale players scored as the Apaches knocked off Abbotsford 49-41 in a nonconference girls basketball game Tuesday night at Auburndale High School.
The Apaches (1-1) trailed 20-19 at halftime before pulling ahead in the second half.
Marissa Ponshock led Auburndale with 12 points, and Rachael Bolder had seven points, 11 rebounds, and six steals for the Apaches.
Auburndale is off until Dec. 2 when it plays a nonconference game at Edgar.
