Mary L. (Seidl) Chrouser, 89, of Stratford, passed away on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016 at Stoney River Assisted Living Center in Marshfield.

She was born June 6, 1927 to Isadore and Anna Seidl, graduated from Marshfield High School and worked at the Rationing Board until her marriage to Ralph J Chrouser on Oct. 20, 1947.  They lived and raised their family in Stratford and were members of St. Joseph Parish where Mary was a member of the PCCW and volunteered to help with many church related activities.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles.  She was devoted to her family and treasured Thanksgiving and Christmas when her family was together. She also loved football: The Packers, the Badgers, Notre Dame and Nebraska. She rarely missed a Stratford High School football game when her sons were playing.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, five siblings: Paul Seidl, Rev. Neil Seidl, Barbara Ann Seidl, Herb Seidl and Kay Savaige; and her son-in-law, Dave Onsager.

She is survived by her sister, Tessie Probst; her 9 children, Cathy Onsager, Mike Chrouser, George (Sheri) Chrouser, Peter (Sally) Chrouser, John (Barb) Chrouser, Dick (Karen) Chrouser, Chuck (Jeanette) Chrouser, Tim (Kelley) Chrouser and Mark (Astrid) Chrouser; 24 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Stoney River Assisted Living who took such good care of her and in particular hospice care.  We are deeply grateful for your kindness.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016 from 10-11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating her life at St Joseph Catholic Church in Stratford. Lunch will be served in the church basement following burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in the village of Stratford.

The Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
