Evelyn M. Thompson, 95, of Marshfield and formerly of Auburndale, died peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 at Wells Nature View, 1016 S. Adams Avenue in Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Auburndale, where the visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time. Rev. Jesse Burish will officiate and Karen Isaacson will be the organist for St. Mary’s Choir and congregational singing. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery and family members will serve as pallbearers.

Evelyn was born on Oct. 29, 1921 in the Town of Milladore to Joseph and Mary (Aschenbrenner) Cerveny. She attended Sunshine Grade School. She married Marcel J. Thompson on June 16, 1947 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Auburndale. He died on July 19, 2012.

For several years, the Thompson’s operated a dairy farm in the Town of Milladore. In 1979 the Thompson’s moved to the village of Auburndale. Evelyn enjoyed baking, sewing, crafts and flowers.  She was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Christian Mother’s Society.

Evelyn is survived by a son, Edward of CT, a daughter, Shirley (Ron) Hartle of Stratford and their children, Nicholas (Jen) Hartle and Jacob (Rachael) Hartle. She is also survived by a grandson, Russ (Kalina) Linzmeier, three great grandchildren and one great grandchild due in spring. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Joan (Bob) Karl of Kewaunee.

She was predeceased by her husband, Marcel, two sons, Steven and Russell, a son in infancy, a granddaughter, Amanda Hartle and a sister, Florence Benish.

The family would like to thank the staff at Wells Nature View for the wonderful care that was given to Mom. She made many friends there and will be missed.

The family will designate a memorial at a later date.
