MARSHFIELD — In Nov. 9 Marshfield School Board action, board members voted to assign annual naming rights for the Marshfield High School Fieldhouse.

In a motion brought forward by Chairperson Amber Leifheit on behalf of the Finance Committee, approval was sought for Boson Company.

“They won the bid at the auction, and they very generously have support the field house and our athletic programs over the past few years,” said Leifheit.

Approval was granted in a unanimous vote. Board member Dorothy Chaney was absent.

The board also approved a new banking services vendor for the district, selecting Forward Financial Bank.

The motion came following a regularly scheduled canvassing of area financial institutions.

“Three years is the minimum, and five years is the maximum, depending upon if there is any reason why, during the course of five years, we wouldn’t want (to retain their services),” said Pat Saucerman, director of business services.

“Letters went out to all area banks and credit unions. Some chose to participate. Some did not choose to participate,” explained Leifheit.

Factoring transaction charges and interest paid, Leifheit said, “Forward Financial Bank is the most advantageous to us.”

A motion was brought forward on behalf of the Finance Committee, which was approved 6-0 with one absent.

The school district banking will be transferred from Associated Bank to Forward Financial Bank on Jan. 1, 2017.
