Featured MAPS pet of the week: Candy

Candy is a shy and beautiful lady who needs a loving home. She loves being held, petted, lounging in her favorite bed, and getting treats.
She was living outdoors and was being fed by a concerned citizen. It was discovered that she had a litter of six kittens in a shed on an abandoned property on a very busy street. Thankfully the city ordinance officers were able to trap the kittens, and Candy was caught by the person who was feeding her so they all could be reunited and brought to the shelter.
All too often cats are forced to have their kittens in unsafe and unclean locations because they have become lost or abandoned. We at Marshfield Area Pet Shelter cannot stress enough how important it is to spay and neuter your pets. The outcome for Candy and her little ones could have been very tragic if they had not gotten the help that they needed. Unfortunately, not all cats are that lucky.
