UW-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball wins opener at UW-Rock County

Marauders host UW-Marathon County on Wednesday

JANESVILLE — Joseph Estrict scored 26 points and hauled down 20 rebounds as the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team opened its 2016-17 season with a resounding 80-62 victory at UW-Rock County on Saturday afternoon.

The Marauders trailed 39-37 at halftime before going on to outscore Rock County 43-23 in the second half.

Estrict was 11 of 18 from the field, had nine offensive rebounds, and dished out a team-high six assists for UW-Marshfield.

Covon Rudolph added 18 points nad 12 rebounds, and Devon Driver had 22 points, six rebounds, and four assists in the win for the Marauders.

The Marauders host UW-Marathon County in their home opener Wednesday.
