SPENCER — The 2016 Spencer School/Community Musical recently rounded up actors — young, old, and in between — to rehearse “The Music Man.” The musicians started rehearsing the first week of school, and the actors started the following week. Directing the musical is Elaine (Meinders) Jones, who is a Spencer alum.

Actor Alex Draeger said of the biennial event, “It’s fun, brings the community together, and you get to form new friendships and renew old ones.”

Tracy Olson said, “I first performed with Daniel Clark when he was in second grade. Now look at him. He is a sophomore.”

“The Music Man” will be performed at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 4 and Nov. 5, and there is a matinee performance at 2 p.m. on Nov. 6. General seating tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youths.
