MARSHFIELD — Main Street Marshfield will host its annual Downtown Trick or Treating event on Oct. 28 from 4-5:30 p.m. Over 1,000 children came downtown to last year’s event in search of sugary treats.

This year the Marshfield Police Department will be issuing crossing guards at four or five of the crosswalks going across Central Avenue. “With so many kids downtown, we knew we had to start taking more precautions to make sure this is a fun yet safe event for everyone,” commented Main Street Executive Director Angie Eloranta.

In addition to the treats, Fairway Mortgage holds an in office costume contest for children 6 and under. The mortgage company has been doing the contest every year, and it continues to gain popularity with the trick or treaters. Office manager Janet Heiting, who helps coordinate the contest, said, “Our office will pick four winners total: two from Facebook likes and two from office picks. We award the winners a $25 MACCI gift certificate.”
