Sports Reporter

MARATHON — The Auburndale football team’s season came to an end Friday night with a 26-6 loss to Marathon in a WIAA Division 6 Level 1 playoff game at Marathon High School.

The Apaches kept it close early, trailing just 14-6 at halftime, but they could not muster another score.

Marathon (9-1) moves on to a Level 2 matchup at Abbotsford (10-0) next Friday.

Auburndale ends its season with a 4-6 record.
