MARSHFIELD — This week the Marshfield High School Athletic Department is hosting four presentations about education-based athletics. On Oct. 24 and 25, Lynn Kachmarik, founder and director of True Brand Sports, will be in the district to work with parents, students, and coaches.

True Brand Sports focuses on improving today’s sport culture through interactive workshops for coaches and student-athletes at the collegiate, high school, youth, and travel sport levels as well as educating parents on how their behavior impacts the character development of their young athletes.

All parents and community members are invited to attend the first presentation, which will be held on Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. in the Marshfield High School auditorium. The 60-minute session will focus on the role of parents of student-athletes.

“One of the biggest issues that athletic directors and coaches face around the world is parent behavior. This workshop helps parents to understand why their desire to talk to coaches about playing time, yelling at officials, or coach from the sideline are impeding the development of their student-athletes,” Kachmarik said.

Additional information about Lynn Kachmarik and True Brand Sports can be found at truebrandsports.com. For questions about any of the presentations, contact the Marshfield High School Athletic Office at 715-387-8464.
