MARSHFIELD — A Marathon County dairy farmer is asking for the public’s help in finding seven cows that were stolen from his dairy operation north of Marshfield. Brian Forrest reported four springing heifers and three fully grown cows were taken from Maple Ridge Dairy at County Trunk E and Macarthur Street on Oct. 4.

Forrest said that all seven animals were pregnant and due within two months and that they are valued at more than $15,000.

Forrest had talked with his employees and did not suspect any of them. The farm where the theft occurred is located four miles west of Stratford and nine miles north of Marshfield.

He is offering a $500 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Troy Bemke at the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department 715-261-1200 or Forrest at 715-650-0267.
