State Representative Bob Kulp (R-Stratford) received the “Friend of Grocers” award from the Wisconsin Grocers Association on Monday, Oct. 17 at Kramer’s County Market, 206 N. 4th St. in Abbotsford.

The “Friend of Grocers” award is given to legislators who score highly on the WGA’s Legislative Report Card – an extensive study of all legislators’ performance in the 2015-2016 Legislative Session. Lawmakers are graded according to their actions on certain issues that are especially important to the grocery industry, including: liquor invoicing legislation; allowing grocers to sell growlers; and several labor issues.

This is the first Friend of Grocers Award Representative Kulp has received. “Rep. Kulp has been a strong advocate for businesses this past session,” said Michelle Kussow, WGA Executive Vice President. “Specifically, we applaud Rep. Kulp for his steadfast support of repealing the personal property tax, which is a priority issue for the Association,” added Kussow.
