FOND DU LAC — Fond du Lac raced out to a four-touchdown lead by halftime and went on to defeat Marshfield 46-14 in the Valley Football Association South Division season finale for both teams on Friday night at Fruth Field.

The win was Fond du Lac’s sixth in a row.

Marshfield ends its season with a 2-7 record and a 1-7 mark in the VFA South after losing its fifth consecutive game. This marks the third-straight season the Tigers have failed to qualify for the WIAA playoffs.

Fond du Lac improves to 7-2 overall and 6-2 in the conference, finishing in sole possession of second place behind VFA South champion Stevens Point. The Cardinals will move on to the WIAA playoffs next week.

Marshfield was limited to 206 yards of total offense, with 137 coming through the air from sophomore quarterback Ryan Krueger.

Krueger threw touchdown passes to Andy Goettl and Mason Coffren for the Tigers’ two scores.

Both Colton Wasielieski (152) and Keon Jefferson (113) had 100-yard rushing games for the Cardinals. Jefferson scored three touchdowns.
