Esther Feltz

Esther Feltz, 79, Stratford, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m . Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford, with Rev. Sengole Vethamanickam officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in the Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County and serving as pallbearers will be nephews, Roy, Alan, Randy, Robert and Robin Kaiser and Dan Weiland. The visitation will be held Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford, and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. St. Joseph’s Parish prayer service will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Esther was born on Sept. 22, 1937, in the Town of Cleveland, Marathon County, the daughter of George and Barbara (Theuer) Kaiser. She attended St. Joseph’s Parochial School, Stratford and was a 1956 graduate of Stratford High School. She was united in marriage to Walter C. Feltz July 22, 1958, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford.

Esther was employed in domestic work and caring for others. Her hobbies included gardening, canning, making wine, quilting, making maple syrup and helping make firewood and she enjoyed hard work. She was deeply loved not only by her immediate family but also her extended family. Her great love after her family was spending time at their cabin near Rib Lake.

She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and its Christian Mother’s Society (P.C.C.W.)

She is survived by her husband, Walter, and their sons, David (Kathy) Feltz of DeForest and Thomas Feltz of Stratford. She is also survived by 2 grandsons, Brian (Jill) Feltz and Brandon (fiancé – Madison Smith) Feltz. She is further survived by a brother, Norman (Ann) Kaiser of Stratford, and sisters, Maggie (Raymond) Newmier of Marshfield and Eleanor (David) Haase of Stratford.

She was predeceased by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in her name to the Stratford Food Pantry.
