MADISON — As part of the ENERGY STAR Change the World Tour taking place this October, Focus on Energy announced on Oct. 11 that it plans to donate up to 15,000 LED bulbs to Meals on Wheels partners around the state. The Change the World Tour encourages people to choose ENERGY STAR-certified LED bulbs in exchange for participating organizations’ support of service projects that benefit local communities. As part of its involvement in the tour, Marshfield Utilities is partnering with Focus on Energy to provide LEDs to Meals on Wheels recipients.

Focus on Energy is Wisconsin utilities’ statewide energy efficiency and renewable resource program funded by the state’s investor-owned energy utilities and participating municipal and electric cooperative utilities. Focus on Energy works with eligible Wisconsin residents and businesses to install cost-effective energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

“We want to do our part to make lives better in our communities throughout Wisconsin and globally,” said Charley Budd, Focus on Energy director of operations. “Everyone who uses an ENERGY STAR-certified LED is making a real difference in protecting the climate by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and this month, they are also helping brighten the lives of those in need in their communities.”

Marshfield Utilities has been a participating partner with Focus on Energy for 12 years. The programs offered through the participation have benefited Marshfield Utilities’ residential and business customers by keeping incentive dollars circulating within the community.
