Healthy Lifestyles Coalition holding community gardens cleanup, strategic planning meeting

MARSHFIELD — Marshfield Clinic and Healthy Lifestyles-Marshfield Area Coalition will be holding the Fall Cleanup Day at the Marshfield Growing Together Community Gardens.
Volunteers are invited Thursday, Oct. 13, to help put three garden sites to bed for winter. The Growing Together Community Gardens offer Marshfield area residents a place to garden and participate in an inexpensive, family friendly activity.

The following community gardens are scheduled for cleanup:
—St. Alban’s, 1413 S. Felker Ave., 4-5 p.m.
—Good Shepherd, 502 W. McMillan St., 4:30-5:30 p.m.
—First Presbyterian, 200 S. Lincoln Ave., 5-6 p.m.
Marshfield Clinic and the Healthy Lifestyles – Marshfield Area Coalition are also seeking community members and leaders to participate in a strategic planning meeting scheduled Thursday, Oct. 27.
The meeting will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 611 W. Doege St., Marshfield. The Healthy Lifestyles – Marshfield Area Coalition works to improve the quality of life and reduce the incidence of disease by promoting healthy eating and active living to those in the Marshfield area.
All community members and leaders are invited to listen to a summary of the coalition’s work and participate in discussions to determine the 2017 focus areas of the coalition. Lunch will be provided.
