Schober, Ellefson each have nine kills for Rockets

SPENCER — The Spencer volleyball team finished off another season to remember — its fifth in a row to be exact — as the Rockets defeated Greenwood 3-0 in its final Cloverbelt Conference East Division match of the year Monday night at Spencer High School.

The Rockets finished off their fifth-straight undefeated Cloverbelt East championship season with the 25-18, 25-14, 25-12 victory.

“We played a really balanced match with a ton of heart,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “Five undefeated conference championships in a row, this group of girls has never dropped a (conference) match in their careers.”

Jenna Schober and Johanna Ellefson each had nine kills, and Liz Endreas had seven for the Rockets offense, and setters Sadie Mercier and McKenzie Bainer contributed 18 and 15 assists, respectively.

Jenna Rogers had 18 digs, and Schober added 12 for Spencer.

Spencer will host Altoona in a Cloverbelt Crossover match on Thursday and will learn its postseason seeding on Wednesday.
