Rockets finish 1-3

By Paul Lecker

Sports Reporter

ALTOONA — The Spencer volleyball team went 1-3 and finished seventh out of 14 teams at the Altoona Invitational on Saturday.

Spencer beat Stanley-Boyd 2-0 and lost to Elk Mound 2-0, Chippewa Falls 2-1, and Altoona 2-0.

Jenna Schober and Liz Endreas each had 18 kills, Jenna Rogers had 38 digs and three service aces, Sadie Mercier had 33 assists, and McKenzie Bainer had 26 assists for the Rockets.

“For as tough as the competition was, we played well,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “A few lapses cost us a couple wins, but we can build off what we did today.”

Spencer closes out its Cloverbelt Conference East Division season Monday at Greenwood. With a win, the Rockets would complete their fifth-straight undefeated conference season.
