OWEN — The Spencer volleyball team clinched at least a share of its fifth-straight Cloverbelt Conference East Division title with a 3-0 sweep of Owen-Withee on Thursday night at Owen-Withee High School.

The Rockets won 25-15, 25-16, 25-12 to remain perfect at 6-0 in the Cloverbelt East, one-half game ahead of Columbus Catholic, which finished its season at 6-1 after beating Loyal on Thursday.

With a win at Greenwood on Monday, Spencer would complete its fifth undefeated conference season in a row.

“We played very well on the defensive side of the ball tonight,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “When we attacked smart, things really were clicking. It’s nice to get a share of that title, but we want more.”

Jenna Rogers led the defense for the Rockets with 22 digs. She also had five service aces.

Jenna Schober added 14 digs and six kills, Liz Endreas had a team-high 10 kills, McKenzie Bainer had 13 assists, and Sadie Mercier had 12 assists for Spencer.

Before the conference finale Monday, Spencer will compete at the Altoona Invitational on Saturday.
