MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) recently announced that in 2018 Marshfield will host the National Fur Takers of America Convention and the Wisconsin State Square & Round Dance, two multiday, citywide conventions that are projected to sell out local hotels.

Marshfield will welcome back the National Fur Takers of America after hosting the organization’s conference in 2013. This will be the first time the National Fur Takers will be in the same state for a national convention within a 10-year period. The CVB expects this event will draw 2,000-3,000 visitors from outside of Marshfield and across the country. This event will take place at the Central Wisconsin State Fairgrounds in partnership with the Wisconsin Trappers Association Convention.

The State Square & Round Dance Convention will be held in August 2018, hosted in partnership with the Marshfield Hoedowners Club. It will take place at the Marshfield High School auditorium and is expected to draw up to 500 dancers and more family, friends, and visitors.

Also happening in 2018, Wisconsin Farm Technology days will be hosted in July in Wood County, very close to Marshfield, with over 40,000 expected visitors to the area.
