SPENCER — The Spencer volleyball team took another step toward its fifth-straight Cloverbelt Conference East Division title with a 3-0 sweep of Colby on Tuesday night at Spencer High School.

The Rockets won 25-21, 25-14, 25-19 to improve to 5-0 in the Cloverbelt East. Colby falls to 0-6.

“We didn’t play our best match, but it was enough to stay in the hunt for the conference title. Hopefully we can pick up our game over the next week,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said.

Jenna Schober had nine kills, four service aces, and 18 digs, and Liz Endreas and Johanna Ellefson each added eight kills for Spencer. McKenzie Bainer had 14 assists, and Sadie Mercier added 12 in the victory.

Spencer is at Owen-Withee on Thursday and can clinch a share of the conference title with a victory.
