MARSHFIELD — The Wood County Farm Technology Days Committee has a new social media presence. Organizers of the agriculture event, slated to be held July 10-12, 2018, at the Sternweis and Heiman farms west of Marshfield, announced they have launched a Facebook page this week.
Executive Committee Chairman Dennis Bangart said the page will be used to keep volunteers and members of the community up to date as plans for the show come together.
The group is currently looking for people from throughout the area to help with the show. Volunteers do not need to have a farm background or agricultural experience, just the desire to be part of a large event.
Farm Technology Days is a three-day outdoor exposition that features farm equipment demonstrations, educational displays for youth, and much more.
The event was last held in Wood County in 1960 at the UW-Marshfield Ag Research Station, back when it was called Farm Progress Days. The show was, however, held near Marshfield in 2011 at Seehafer Acres, which is located in Marathon County.
The Wood County Farm Technology Days Facebook page can be found at facebook.com/FTD2018.
