Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library to open Sept. 6
For Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield Public Library closed its doors for the last time on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2016. On Tuesday, Sept. 6, the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library opens for business. The community at large is invited to join in a soft opening and witness a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. After the ceremony, the library will operate as usual, returning to normal hours.
Work on the new library will continue until the opening. For safety purposes, the library and book returns will remain closed while the work is conducted.
To allow time for building adjustments and staff to become familiar with the new facility, a grand opening ceremony will be held Nov. 13. After the noon ceremony, everyone is invited to attend the annual “Great Things Are Happening Here!” event. Performers, refreshments, tours, and visits with other community movers and shakers will round out this day and begin a week of celebration.
FOMPL store coming to library
The Friends of the Marshfield Public Library will soon operate a full-time used book store in the new Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library.
Located near the entrance to the library, the store will have the capacity to house over 4,000 books. According to book sale chairman Gwen Steensen, the books will be organized by category for ease of browsing.
The hours for the bookstore will be the same as those of the library. As always, used book donations will be accepted at any time.
