Stratford’s Second, Third Avenues near end of construction
By Eileen Riehle
STRATFORD — The water and sewer mains are being replaced along North Second Avenue and North Third Avenue in the village of Stratford. Plans also call for all new lights on these streets.
Crews have been working on the North Third Avenue water and sewer mains for the last few weeks. These have now been replaced, and granite has been laid down over those mains. The street is open to traffic, and businesses remain open. The paving of the street and the sidewalks have not been completed at this time.
The construction crews then moved their equipment to North Second Avenue and began replacing the water and sewer mains there.
Curbing and gutters on North Third Avenue were planned to be installed on Aug. 29.
American Asphalt will pave the streets near the end of October. All projects will be completed before the snow begins to fall.
