Marshfield volleyball splits four matches at Sun Prairie Invite to finish seventh

SUN PRAIRIE — The Marshfield volleyball team wrapped up play at the Sun Prairie Invitational on Saturday, going 2-2 to finish in seventh-place at the two-day tournament.

The Tigers went 4-1 in pool play on Friday and then split four matches on Saturday. Marshfield lost to Sun Prairie 25-12, 25-16; beat Wrightstown 25-19, 21-25, 16-14; lost to DeForest 25-12, 21-25, 15-13; and defeated Manitowoc 25-19, 25-12.

Alex Aumann had 30 kills, and Stephanie Rhodes added 28 kills and 23 digs for the Tigers. Anna Ripp had 47 assists and 23 digs, Corianne Johnson had 35 assists, Maureen Cassidy had a team-high 28 digs, and Abby Pritzl added 22 digs for Marshfield.

Marshfield opens its Wisconsin Valley Conference schedule Thursday at Wausau East.
