CHIPPEWA FALLS — The Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team ended up 2-3 at the Diocesan Tournament on Saturday at Chippewa Falls McDonell High School.

The Dons lost to McDonell 25-17, 25-19; defeated Wisconsin Rapids Assumption 25-10, 25-14; fell to Stevens Point Pacelli 25-27, 25-22, 15-8; swept Eau Claire Regis 25-22, 25-23; and lost to La Crosse Aquinas 25-12, 25-14.

Kendra Baierl had 54 kills, Celine Scholin added 25 kills, Sierra Litwatis had 47 digs, and setters Jennifer Reigel and Natalie Pospyhalla had 42 and 38 assists, respectively.

“Our team is working through a rough patch with some players that are injured,” Columbus coach Kat Egle said. “The team is getting better with our new rotation and playing together well.”

The Dons will be playing in a triangular meet, along with Assumption, at Neillsville on Thursday.
