Marshfield volleyball goes 4-1 in pool play at Sun Prairie Invite

Tigers continue at tournament on Saturday

SUN PRAIRIE — The Marshfield volleyball team opened the two-day Sun Prairie Invitational by going 4-1 in pool play on Friday.

The Tigers defeated Manitowoc 25-18, 25-11; Beaver Dam 26-24, 25-18; Luxemburg-Casco 25-22, 25-22; and Wrightstown 25-20, 25-17. Marshfield’s lone defeat came to Watertown 25-16, 25-17.

Stephanie Rhodes had 25 kills, Alexa Aumann added 24, and Karly Nikolai added 19 kills and 13 block kills for the Tigers.

Corianne Johnson had 48 assists while Anna Ripp added 33, Jamila Ougayour had nine blocks and five aces, and Maureen Cassidy had a team-high 40 digs in the five matches for Marshfield.

Play continues at 10 a.m. Saturday.
