Lights recently installed at Marshfield Dog Park, celebration to be held Aug. 19

For Hub City Times

MARSHFIELD — The Light Up the Dog Park party will be held at the Marshfield Dog Park on Aug. 19 starting at 8:30 p.m. Lights were recently put in at the Marshfield Dog Park so that the park can safely be utilized at any time of the day.

The lights are on a 20-minute timer and are activated by pushing the light button at either the north or south gate.

Earlier this year the dog park board joined forces with the Central Wisconsin State Fair and the Marshfield Parks and Recreation Department to light up the dog park. The fair board approved the plan knowing that the lights would also be used during the fair to illuminate parking in the dog park area, which is vacated at that time.

Merkel Electric installed the lights in June.
