PITTSVILLE — A visit to Wildwood Park & Zoo is an exciting experience for children of all ages. It is especially interesting this summer with Boda and Munsey, the new inhabitants of the bear exhibit. Also at the zoo are a number of beautiful display gardens and containers that are cared for by Wood County Master Gardener volunteers.

Wildwood Park & Zoo is only one of about 30 projects located throughout Wood County funded by the Wood County Master Gardeners. The goal is to beautify the area and educate the public on good gardening practices.

One of the fundraisers planned for the Marshfield area is a plant sale held in conjunction with Maple Fall Fest in Wildwood Park on Sept. 17 and 18. Wood County Master Gardeners donate plants from their gardens for the sale. Garden decorations, scarecrows, dried bouquets, and other fall items will also be available. Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and help get purchases to your car.
