It takes two: Marshfield Tennis Association puts on doubles tournament

MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield Tennis Association staged its annual Marshfield Doubles Tournament on Aug. 6 at Boson Courts.
A total of 40 players participated in six brackets.
Grant Reckner and Tom Duncan won the Men’s A Doubles, beating Chris Gritzmacher and Lee Brandenburg in the finals 6-2, 6-4. Evan Fait and Derek Reckner topped Jack Haessly and Ayush Shukla 6-2, 6-4 in the consolation finals.
Duane Haakenson and Brett Haakenson won the Men’s B and Women’s combined bracket, beating Garry Koehler and Nick Reckner 4-7, 7-6, 11-9 in the finals. Craig Paulman and Luke Kaiser teamed to win the consolation bracket, taking down Paul Roberts and Lee Gostomski 6-1, 6-0.
The Women’s B and Youth combined bracket was won by Lillie James and Taylor Konczal, who defeated Joan Frericks and Ava Critelli 6-2, 6-2 in the championship match. Lucas Paulman and Ryan Paulman beat Kacy Wesolowski and Olivia Devedas 6-1, 6-2 in the consolation finals.
Mixed Doubles were won by Renee Wesolowski and Jeff Eisberner. They beat Tom Duncan and Ashley Schultz in the finals 6-2, 3-6, 10-5. Olivia Haessly and Jack Haessly beat Shukla and Critelli 6-3, 4-6, 10-7 in the consolation finals.
Ryan Paulman and Kristen Gerndt won the U17 adult/child doubles bracket, and Zach Brandenburg and Lee Brandenburg took first in the U12 adult/child doubles competition.
