For Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD — High school-aged youth interested in becoming stronger leaders, gaining volunteer hours, reducing substance use and bullying, or just enjoy being involved in student groups are invited to attend the 2016 Youth Initiatives Retreat.
Marshfield Clinic and Marshfield Area Coalition for Youth (MACY) will host the retreat from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Marshfield Area YMCA and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
The day includes youth-led leadership and team building activities, a Marshfield drug trends presentation, and creating a game plan for the 2016-2017 school year. Lunch will be provided.
Retreat attendees do not have to join MACY Youth Initiatives to attend but are encouraged to do so. Benefits of joining MACY Youth Initiatives include:
—A free T-shirt designed by the group.
—Breakfast, lunch, or snacks provided at biweekly meetings.
—Valuable volunteer hours that can be counted for other student requirements.
—Résumé enhancing experience.
—Opportunities to share group efforts with the community.
