SPENCER — The 14th Annual Brad Bauer Memorial Weekend is fast approaching. The nonprofit Spencer Community Boosters (SCB) organization is heading up the festivities, which will be Aug. 19-21 at the Spencer ARC Park. Funds generated by this event will help not only SCB in its endeavors but also other area organizations that volunteer time to raise funds for projects, including youth group mission trips, 4H, Music Club, and youth sports.

The Brad Bauer Softball Tourney has a full schedule; a volleyball tournament, raffles, and other games will be held throughout the weekend; and there will be a beer tent and food provided at the concession stand and the Swamp Stompers French Fry and Curd Station. New this year are an expanded Kid Zone with children’s activities, Corn Hole Tourney, DJ with karaoke Friday and Saturday nights, and vendors available for shopping.

The first 20 teams that sign up and pay the $20 entry fee for the Corn Hole Tourney will be accepted. Prizes will be based on the number of participants.

Aug. 20 at the Spencer High School track will be the 5k, 2-Mile Run/Walk, and Kids Fun Run. Registration runs from 7-8 a.m., and races start at 8:30 a.m. All participants receive a T-shirt and a goody bag, and there are special prizes for children, including a bike raffle. Visit bradbauermemorial.com to register.

Interested vendors should reach out to Becky Gorst at 715-897-0785; via email at beckylbri@gmail.com; or message the SCB Facebook page, facebook.com/spencercommunityboosters.

Those interested in entering a team into the volleyball tournament should register online at bradbauermemioral.com, or email Tracey at ackmantm@yahoo.com or call 715-207-9912 or 715-659-4001 for a registration form.
