PITTSVILLE — Pittsville Area Community Theater’s (PACT) summer offering “Urning It” is scheduled for July 21-23 at 7 p.m. and July 24 at 2 p.m. in the Pittsville School District Auditorium. The play is directed by Sarah Freedlund.

“Urning It” follows Ward Hammacher, who has just discovered that his wife’s extremely rich aunt has died. To honor her last request, he packs up his family and treks 3,000 miles to scatter her ashes off the Santa Monica Pier and collect the inheritance. The drive proves perilous as the family experiences hilarious misadventures along the way.

Winner of the Jewel Box Theatre Best Play of the Year Award, Ed Vela’s comedy “Urning It” is reminiscent of PACT’s 2010 production, “Leaving Iowa.”
