Elks dole out scholarships to local students

MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield Elks #665 Youth Achievement Awards ceremony was held April 27 at the Marshfield High School Auditorium. One hundred and twenty seniors from 12 area high schools were honored in the following categories: Art/Drama, Music, Science/Agricultural, Mathematics, Language Arts, Technology Education, Social Studies/History, Business/Computers, Family Consumer Ed, and Leadership.

In addition to these honors, 32 seniors received scholarships. Elk State Scholarships worth $16,375 were awarded to 10 seniors, and Marshfield Elks donated $12,000 to scholarships for 22 seniors, making a grand total of $28,375 in scholarship money awarded.
