Wildwood’s turkey vulture dies

For Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield Parks & Recreation Department recently announced the death of its charming turkey vulture, Scout. Scout was found with a missing eye by a family in Indiana and was deemed nonreleasable, which meant he would no longer survive in the wild, and he was brought to Wildwood Park & Zoo in June of 2014. All of the birds of prey that live at the zoo are nonreleasable wildlife.
As of late Scout was learning to sit on a gloved hand of zookeepers so he could be trained as a presentation animal for public educational programs.
