Stratford softball’s Bredemann, Geiger, Luepke named first-team all-conference

Stratford junior catcher Brittany Bredemann was one of four players unanimously selected to the All-Marawood Conference South Division Softball Team.

Bredemann hit .460 (23 of 50) with eight doubles, three triples, and 19 RBIs for the Tigers, who were 10-2 in the Marawood South.

Senior third baseman Kaylee Geiger and senior pitcher/designated player Lorrie Luepke were also named to the first team for Stratford.

Geiger led the Tigers with a .556 batting average in conference play (25 of 45) and topped the Marawood South with nine doubles, three home runs, and 24 runs scored. She also had 18 RBIs.

Luepke hit .444 (20 of 45) with seven doubles and 13 RBIs and was 5-0 with a 2.07 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 27 innings pitched.

Senior first baseman Casey Kolbeck and junior outfielder Sammy Griesbach were second-team picks, and sophomore pitcher Kiana Weiler and freshman shortstop Macey Kilty were honorable mention selections for Stratford.

Auburndale had three all-conference performers. Senior Sydney Schmutzer was named to the second team, and junior Brooke Anderson and senior Robyn Brokish earned honorable mention status after the Apaches finished 6-6 and in fourth place in the standings.

Schmutzer hit .500 (15 of 30), Anderson had a team-high 14 runs scored and batted .394, and Brokish hit .281 and went 3-0 pitching with a 3.00 ERA.
