MARSHFIELD — In the wake of multiple media reports linking the shooter who killed 50 people and injured many more at an Orlando nightclub Sunday morning to ISIS, the Islamic Society of Central Wisconsin has issued the following statement:

Respected community members,

The Islamic Society of Central Wisconsin mourns the horrific loss of precious life in Orlando, Fla. This latest terrorist activity, which is a most bloody and condemnable one, is an assault against universal humanistic values. As Muslims we reaffirm our belief, as emphasized in the Quran, that whoever kills one life, it is as if they have killed all of humanity. And whoever saves even one life, it is as if they have saved all of humanity (Chapter 5: Verse 32).

We call on Muslims in Florida and all across America to step forward and assist in all efforts to help the injured, find the lost, and comfort those suffering from shock and pain and the loss of their loved ones. We condemn all forms of barbarity, murder, and attacks on innocent people.

Sincerely,

Dr. Asif Hussain

President ISCW
