Varsho named Horizon Player of the Year

MILWAUKEE — Daulton Varsho, a 2014 graduate of Marshfield High School and a sophomore on the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee baseball team, has been named the Horizon League Player of the Year.
Varsho, one of three Panthers named to the all-Horizon League first team, led the conference in five offensive categories. He batted .381 with a slugging percentage of .610, had 88 hits, six triples, and 141 total bases. He also had 51 RBIs, scored 50 runs, and hit eight home runs in 57 games as UW-Milwaukee went 32-26 overall and 17-11 in the Horizon League.
The Panthers were eliminated in the Horizon League tournament on May 27, losing games to eventual champion Wright State and Valparaiso. Varsho was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs in the 12-7 loss to Valparaiso and accounted for Milwaukee’s lone run with an RBI single in a 5-1 loss to Wright State.
