Marshfield’s Movies in the Park nights announced

For Hub City Times

MARSHFIELD — The Movies in the Park committee recently announced its summer outdoor movie night schedule for 2016.

This year’s kickoff movie is held in conjunction with the Dairyfest Picnic in the Park event, which is Friday, June 3, at Columbia Park. The featured movie is “The Peanuts Movie.”

The second event takes place at Marshfield Fairgrounds Park, next to the dog park, on June 24 and features the popular “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” This is a drive-in style movie, and a general seating area will also be available.

The third outdoor screening helps kick off Hub City Days in downtown Marshfield on July 29. The movie “Up” will be shown that evening on Central Avenue between Third and Fourth Streets.

The fourth and final event takes place at Columbia Park on Aug. 12, when the featured movie will be “Pitch Perfect 2.”

All movie nights are free and will be shown outdoors on a large inflatable screen. Concessions will be available on the grounds and benefit various community organizations at each event.

For more information or event updates, call the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry at 715-384-3454, visit marshfieldchamber.com/movies, or search “Movies in the Park – Marshfield, WI” on Facebook.

Movies in the Park is a Leadership Marshfield project. Sponsors include Marshfield Clinic, Marshfield Professional Police Association, Festival Foods, and Ho-Chunk Nation.
