Stratford softball advances with win over Bonduel in WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal

STRATFORD — Stratford scored all six of its runs in the first three innings and held on from there, beating Bonduel 6-2 in a WIAA Division 3 softball regional semifinal Thursday at Hilgemann Field.
Fourth-seeded Stratford (17-6) will play at No. 1 seed Oconto (22-3) in a regional final Friday.
Stratford scored twice in the first inning and added three more in the third. After Bonduel scored twice in the third, the Tigers came back with a run in the bottom of the inning and held the 6-2 lead the rest of the way.
Kiana Weiler struck out four to earn the complete-game win for Stratford as she scattered eight hits.
Lorrie Luepke hit a home run and had three RBIs, and Brittany Bredemann, Macey Kilty, and Weiler each had two hits for Stratford.
