WESTON — Marshfield senior Calden Wojt will represent the Tigers in three events at the state track meet after finishing in the top two in the 100, 200, and 400 meters at the WIAA Division 1 sectional Thursday at Stiehm Stadium at D.C. Everest High School.

Wojt won the 200 in 21.86 seconds and was second in the 100 (10.90) and 400 (50.49) to earn the Tigers’ only spots in the 2016 WIAA State Track & Field Championships, which will be held June 3-4 at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The top three finishers in each event at the sectional qualified for state.

Adam Elhendy-Gunnarsson, the only other Marshfield boy to qualify for sectionals, finished seventh in the 200 in 23.84.

The Marshfield girls had four individuals competing in five events, as well as two relay teams, at the sectional, but none finished in the top three.

Alexa Aumann took fourth in the 400 in 1:01.16, less than one second behind the third-place finisher. She also placed eighth in the 800 (2:32.90) and was part of the 1,600 relay team that took seventh.

The Tigers’ 800 relay team of Angelina Dunomes, Kessa Schreiner, Shantel Nienast, and Dani Bender also finished fourth in a time of 1:56.57, 10 seconds behind third-place Wausau West.

Nienast was sixth in the jump high (4-8), Courtney Brown was sixth in the 400 (1:02.09), and Meg Bryan finished seventh in the long jump (16-3) for Marshfield’s other performances.
