COLBY — Stratford has nine individuals competing in 10 events, and three relay teams moving on to sectionals after earning top-four finishes at the WIAA Division 2 Track & Field Regional on Monday at Colby High School.

The top four in each event Monday qualified for the Division 2 sectional at Medford on Thursday. The top four finishers at the sectional will move on to the 2016 WIAA State Track & Field Championships on June 3-4 at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Stratford did not have any regional champions but did have three runner-ups and a total of 13 finishes in the top four to earn sectional spots.

Stratford’s top finishes on the girls’ side came from Brooklynn Zawislan, who was second in the triple jump with a leap of 32 feet 2 inches, and Emily Hauke, who took second in the long jump with a jump of 15-7.

Jesse Dickmann took second in the long jump (19-11 ¼) for the Stratford boys’ best finish.

Stratford took three of the top four spots in the girls long jump as Brianna LaSee finished third (15-6 ¾) and Makayla Krall placed fourth (14-10 ½).

Johnelle Miner finished third in the 3,200 in 12:38.66, and Hauke was fourth in the 200 in 27.47 seconds for the Stratford girls other individual qualifiers. The Tigers’ 400 relay team of Hauke, Sarah LaBorde, Brooke Peterson, and Keyarra Dahl was fourth in 54.23, and the 1,600 relay team of Ingrid Bender, Hauke, Heather Greenberg, and Dahl was fourth in 4:19.55.

The Stratford boys earned three other individual qualifiers and one relay spot at the sectional.

John Geissinger was third in the pole vault (12-3), Damon Weix took third in the 110 hurdles (18.20), A.J. Schoenfuss finished third in the 200 (24.08), and Stratford’s 800 relay team of Dickmann, Kyler Haupt, Schoenfuss, and Tyler Gilbertson was fourth in 1:38.49.

The Stratford girls were fifth, and the boys took sixth in the team standings. Lakeland finished first in both.
