MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield baseball team rallied from a four-run deficit to force extra innings but came up short in the end, losing to D.C. Everest 11-9 in nine innings on Thursday at Jack Hackman Field.

Everest led 9-5 after 5 ½ innings before the Tigers scored three times in the sixth and once in the seventh to tie it.

After a scoreless eighth, Everest scored twice in the ninth and held on to win it.

Marshfield drops to 9-12 overall and 4-6 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference, and Everest moves to 11-9 and 7-3 in the conference.

Braden Bohman and Paul Maguire each had three hits for the Tigers. Bohman scored three times, and Maguire and Jeremy Brost each drove in two runs.

Marshfield hosts Appleton West on Saturday in a nonconference game and then wraps up its WVC and regular-season schedule next week with a home game against Wausau East on Tuesday and travels to East on Thursday.
