Sports Reporter

STRATFORD — The Stratford softball team had 21 hits and used a 12-run fourth inning to whip Pittsville 19-1 in a Marawood Conference South Division game Friday at Hilgemann Field.

The Tigers already led 7-1 before exploding in the fourth and ended it via the 10-run rule after five innings.

Lorrie Luepke allowed just one hit and struck out seven to earn the win for Stratford (13-5, 9-1 Marawood South).

Kiana Weiler went 4-for-4 with a double, a home run, and four RBIs; Kaylee Geiger also hit a home run and drove in three; and Casey Kolbeck and Courtney Krall each added three RBIs for the Tigers.

The Tigers own a one-half game lead over Marathon in the conference standings and play at Marathon on Monday. Stratford will finish its Marawood South schedule Thursday at Northland Lutheran.
