Marshfield Chaparrals baseball loses season opener to Rib Lake
Chaps have 15 hits in home loss

MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield Chaparrals amateur baseball team started its 2016 season with a 13-6 loss to the Rib Lake Osprey on Sunday afternoon at Jack Hackman Field.
The Chaparrals had 15 hits but could not overcome 11 walks issued by their two pitchers and five errors that led to eight unearned runs.
Eric Pritzl and Sam Schwanebeck had three hits each, and Lucius Messerschmidt, Ryan Metz, and Cale Cuddie each had two hits for Marshfield.
The Chaparrals host Interwald in their next game Sunday, May 15, at Hackman Field.
