Spencer baseball whips Gilman

Rockets now 9-1 in Cloverbelt East

GILMAN — Bobby Pilz went 4-for-4, and Spencer scored 16 runs in the first four innings to down Gilman 16-6 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday at Gilman High School.
The Rockets had 14 hits in all and built a 13-1 lead after 2 ½ innings.
Nate Neumann, Jake Meyers, and Pilz combined to strike out 11 for Spencer, which is now 10-2 overall and 9-1 in the Cloverbelt East. Gilman falls to 4-7 overall and in the conference.
Ryan Busse and Calvin Lenz each had two hits, and Busse and Meyers each drove in three runs for the Rockets.
Spencer plays at Neillsville on Monday.
