STRATFORD — Eight of nine Stratford players had at least one hit as the Tigers won their eighth-straight Marawood Conference South Division softball game Thursday, beating Auburndale 6-2 at Hilgemann Field.

Stratford scored twice in the first and three times in the second inning to pull away early.

Kiana Weiler earned the win for the Tigers, giving up two runs and one walk while striking out four. She also added three hits at the plate.

Kaylee Geiger, Lorrie Luepke, Sammy Griesbach, and Brittany Bredemann each had two hits for Stratford, which is now 10-3 overall and 8-0 in the Marawood South.

Auburndale had seven hits but could muster just the two runs in the loss and falls to 2-6-1 overall and 1-4 in the Marawood South.

Auburndale hosts Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Friday, and Stratford travels to Poynette for a tournament on Friday and Saturday before playing at home against Marathon on Monday.
